Rachel Jurra Napaljarri began painting in 80’s educated by a number of celebrated artists, Eunice and Polly Napangardi along with Rosie Fleming. Rachel is married to the late Isaac Yama, a prominent Aboriginal artist. Rachel Jurra Napaljarri is educated by a number of celebrated artists, Eunice and Polly Napangardi along with Rosie Fleming.

Rachel Jurra Napaljarri stories include Kangaroo, Pirki, Green Parrot and Prickle of Jila Well, west of Yuendumu. Rachel Jurra Napaljarri is a respected member of a traditional Aboriginal painting group and has worked alongside a number of of very distinguished artists.  With her painting, Rachel has ability to bring to life the visual nature of the story. Rachel Jurra Napaljarri has a perfect gift to bond her artistic skill and the earthy deep understanding and insight of her culture. This interaction is seen and felt through the high quality standard of work she sets for herself.
