Pamela Griffith is one the 50 most collectable Australian artists, Ref. Australian Art Collector, issue 35. Pamela Griffith exquisite arrangements of flowers, fruit and objects have timeless quality and seduce the viewer with their technical virtuosity and inherent grace.  With the experience which spans over 4 generations Pamela Griffith art hangs in prestigious public, corporate and private collections along legendary Australians like Margaret Olley, Ray Crook, Sir Arthur Streeton National Gallery of Victoria including: The National Gallery of Australia; Parliament House of NSW, Parliament House of Australia; The Mitchell Library; The Maritime Museum in Paris; The Vatican Rome; The Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York, USA; the Prime Minister's Palace Beijing, China.

Pamela Griffith is an artist whose work follows the tradition of great masters of the technical excellence which she applies to her decidedly contemporary work. In painting, drawing, printmaking and design she strives for work which is both artistically satisfying and technically masterful. She has become one of Australia's most valued artists. She has worked professionally in the arts for more almost four decades, producing a vast body of work which has found its way into public and private collections in many parts of the world.

Same as the world greatest masters, Pamela Griffith is proud of her technical excellence though the creative vision is just as important to Pamela Griffith. Interpretation of the natural world is close in her creative thoughts and she has traveled to many parts of the world in search of inspiration. A keen observer of geographical influences and life forms, her landscapes invariably invoke recollections of her joy and fascination with all forms of flora and fauna. Pamela’s extensive travel throughout Australia, has engendered a passion for the depiction of this ancient and fragile land. She has produced an impressive body of landscape works, many including elements which depict the influence of human activity on the environment, or our pleasure and reverence in interaction with nature. She loves walking with her sketch pad and a camera at hand, on mountain, river bank, plain and seashore, allowing intimate contact with her beloved country. Pamela Griffith also supports one of the best equipped print workshops any artist could hope to find, working with a full time printmaker to produce her editions of fine etchings.

Exhibitions:
80 solo exhibitions including 13 shows at Barry Stern Galleries since 1981, Qantas Australian lounges 1995,96,97,98,99 also many group shows.

Artist Statement
Whilst I have always been a versatile artist producing portraits, still life paintings and landscapes in various mediums that include oil, water colour and etchings I have always been very preoccupied with travel and landscape. When researching my book " Australia, an artist's journey through the landscape" I became aware of how few iconic images Australians have to celebrate our nation as we have only been in this place a short time. I live near the Royal National Park which is the second oldest National park in the world, so I have generated some landscapes from this area to add to my impressions of Australia. Since colonial times Sydney-siders have toured the park and it was a favorite spot to take a "car for a spin" in the early days of the automobile. The old boat-shed at Audley Weir is where so many Australians met and had picnics so I felt obliged to paint it in a representational manner befitting it's history. I shall always be looking at ways of expressing my love for Australia. I like to take a broad sweep in my paintings then examine the subject thoroughly in drawing and etchings.
