Nathaniel
spends time
in
Bundanon
by the Shoalhaven River where he creates some exceptionally beautiful
paintings.
The
youngest
son of
Jamie Boyd
and his wife Helena,
Nathaniel
belongs to
the
distinguished
Boyd
artistic dynasty that began
in 1886 with the marriage of Emma Minnie à Beckett
(1858-1936)
and Arthur Merric Boyd
(1862-1940).
Tutored by his father
Jamie Boyd
an acknowledged master colourist, Nathaniel is equally talented across
a wide variety of mediums - sculpture, gouache, pastel
and
oil on canvas and board.
Nathaniel Boyd
continues to perform as a
cello performer in classical music around the world, and also exhibits
his beautiful sculptures as well as painting landscapes
of Hampstead Heath, the English and
Italian

The youngest son of Jamie Boyd and wife Helena, Nathaniel belongs to the distinguished Boyd artistic dynasty that began in 1886 with the marriage of Emma Minnie à Beckett (1858-1936) and Arthur Merric Boyd (1862-1940). Like his father Jamie Boyd and his grandfather Arthur Boyd, Nathaniel also spends time in Bundanon by the Shoalhaven River, the former home of his grandfather Arthur Boyd where, he creates some exceptionally beautiful paintings.
Tutored by his father
Jamie Boyd,
an acknowledged master colourist, Nathaniel is equally gifted
across a wide variety of mediums - sculpture, gouache, pastel
and
oil on canvas.
Nathaniel Boyd

cello performer in classical music around the world, and also exhibits
his beautiful sculptures as well as painting landscapes
of Hampstead Heath, the English and
Italian
countryside.
Nathaniel Boyd was born in
1983 and started studying the cello at the age of four at the
Preparatory Department of the Guildhall. At the age of nine he
joined the Junior Guildhall School of Music where he studied with
Selma Gokcen. Nathaniel Boydalso studied regularly with William
Pleeth. On finishing school, Nathaniel underwent undergraduate
studies in the class of Hannah Roberts at the Royal Northern College
of Music.
Nathaniel Boyd graduated in June
2005 with First Class Honours, a PPRNCM (Distinction) and the
Leonard Rose Prize. He has participated in master-classes with
Mstislav Rostropovich, Bernard Greenhouse, Thomas Demenga, Karine
Georgian, Steven Doane, Colin Carr and Alexander Rudin.
Nathaniel Boyd
is currently a postgraduate student at the RNCM studying with Ralph
Kirshbaum. Nathaniel plays a Grancino cello of 1695.
Nathaniel
began his artistic career as a cello performer in classical music.
In a solo capacity Nathaniel appears regularly with orchestra, most
recently performing Shostakovich's First Cello Concerto and Brahms'
"Double" Concerto (with violinist Marije Ploemacher) with the RNCM
Symphony Orchestra.
